Overview
Import CHB Coordinator supports Mohawk’s air/ocean import transportation by leveraging partner relationships and analytical skills to assist customers. The role interfaces with clients and suppliers to ensure performance in the movement of goods through the supply chain, from start to finish. The position requires an inquisitive mindset to investigate and resolve problem shipments and other freight management aspects across air, land, or sea as necessary.
Basepay range
$50,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr
Please note that the salary range referenced is a general guideline only. Salary differentials are based on multiple factors including geographic location, education/training, years of relevant experience/seniority, merit, qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Mohawk Global considers all of these variables when extending an offer of employment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Receive, review, verify and process import documentation from overseas agents/customers
- Timely preparation of rates and quotes for customers and overseas agents
- Ensure Importer Security Filing (ISF) compliance
- Problem solve and coordinate with importers, U.S. Customs & Border Protection and other Government agencies
- Data entry into Cargo Wise freight management system
- Inform delivering parties of customs clearance, delivery instructions and required information
- Track and trace shipments; research and resolve issues regarding billing or shipping discrepancies; communicate timely correspondence to customers and vendors
- Collaborate and build relationships with customers, carriers, and agent representatives regarding air and ocean import to strengthen service competitiveness
- Finalize files with billing charges, complete billing invoices and maintain completed folders
- Provide reporting and analytics as required by customers
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Comfortable working with large, complex importers
- Strong experience with import transportation to the US, with understanding of business and cultural complexities
- Working knowledge of Cargo Wise logistics platform strongly preferred
- Ability to work calmly under pressure from customers and overseas partners
- Desire to work toward a role in commercial account management
- 2-4 years of import experience required
- College degree (Associates or Bachelors) preferred; major/concentration in logistics, supply chain, business, accounting or other applicable field of study preferred
- Comfortable working in a team-focused environment
- Self-motivated with high level of enthusiasm
- Creative thinker with a competitive desire to meet and exceed customer expectations
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and make quick decisions in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
- Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Ability to gather and summarize data for reports and correspondence
