Responsibilites- Continuously explore ways and identify opportunities to reduce freight costs.
- Continuously plan, analyze, and optimize the transportation network.
- Build, plan, and route loads in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Manage appointment scheduling requirements relative to the delivery plan to optimize the highest levels of service at the lowest landed cost.
- Track execution of loads against relevant milestones to identify delays, risks in transit and keep relevant stakeholders informed with updates.
- Proactively interact with carriers to ensure an unimpeded transportation process and minimize delays of deliverables (e.g., actual arrival and departure times, PODs, etc.).
- Act as liaison between Customer Supply Chain, Fulfillment, and carriers.
- Maintain carrier KPIs – on‑time performance, tender acceptance, routing guide compliance.
- Manage Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) related to transportation activities.
- Carrier KPIs: on-time performance, tender acceptance, routing guide compliance.

- Execution of order lifecycle – planning to delivery.
- Carrier selection in spot market workflow.
- Influence carrier network decisions based on performance and business needs.
- Advise the transportation team as subject‑matter expert for business initiatives.
- Internal – Customer Supply Chain Planners, Fulfillment, Warehouses.
- External – Partner carriers, TMS provider, distributors, copackers.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations.
- Experience working with TMS platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail.
- Problem solving, multi‑tasking and prioritization, sense of urgency.
- Cross‑functional collaboration with the broader Logistics team and business impact.
- The impact of carrier relationships and long‑term partnerships.
This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring on‑site presence in the office at least four days per week to support collaboration and team engagement.
Compensation- Competitive annual salary from $64,000 to $80,000 for positions based in Illinois.
