Warehouse Operations Supervisor

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Operations Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse and freight handling activities at our Chicago facility. This role combines warehouse supervision with operational oversight, ensuring shipments are received, processed, and dispatched accurately and efficiently. The Warehouse Operations Supervisor will lead a team of associates, enforce compliance with TSA, CBP, and OSHA requirements, and ensure service levels are met in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.

• Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, breakdown/build-up of cargo, storage, and outbound dispatch.
• Oversee cargo handling for air and ocean freight forwarding shipments, ensuring timely and compliant movement.
• Ensure compliance with TSA, CBP, OSHA, and company regulations for all warehouse and freight operations.
• Manage, train, and evaluate warehouse staff to ensure performance, productivity, and adherence to SOPs.
• Monitor inventory and conduct cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
• Coordinate with operations, transportation, and customs brokerage teams to streamline workflow.
• Enforce safe handling of hazardous materials, temperature-controlled shipments, and special cargo as needed.
• Maintain warehouse safety standards and conduct regular inspections.
• Resolve escalated operational or customer-related issues with urgency and professionalism.
• Prepare and review daily/weekly reports on warehouse performance, staffing, and compliance.

• 3–5 years of experience in warehouse or logistics supervision, ideally within freight forwarding.
• Solid knowledge of international and domestic cargo handling, TSA/CBP compliance, and warehouse operations.
• Previous experience leading and motivating warehouse teams.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Cargowise or other freight forwarding systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physical warehouse environment.

• Location: Chicago, IL (on-site role).
• Schedule: Full-time; may require overtime, evening, or weekend shifts depending on business needs.
• Travel: Minimal, but may be required for training or operational support.
