This position is responsible for leading the operations of the grooming salon, achieving targeted goals, and driving results to grow the business. This includes overseeing daily operations, training and coaching staff, and providing exceptional customer service to pet parents and their dogs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Support selling initiatives by engaging with customers, advising on products/services, and creating memorable experiences.
• Manage daily salon operations, including scheduling, safety checks, and audits.
• Ensure grooming SOPs and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new groomers and technicians.
• Communicate regularly with the store manager regarding sales and staffing.
• Drive salon growth through customer outreach, events, and community involvement.
• Lead and coach team members to improve performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Provide professional grooming services, ensuring safety and quality.
• Maintain safety protocols, equipment, and records.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of animals, including health checks and proper handling.
• Complete all documentation and operate necessary equipment.
• Follow all salon policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years grooming experience under a professional groomer; supervisory experience preferred.
• Comfortable working with dogs and cats, demonstrating patience and compassion.
• Must provide own grooming tools or be willing to purchase them.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency with grooming tools and equipment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.

Working Conditions

• Indoor environment with moderate noise; exposure to wet conditions and grooming tools.
• Work shifts typically range from 4 to over 8 hours.
• Physical ability to move, lift, and stand for extended periods.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to move quickly and safely, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods.
• Operate grooming equipment and communicate effectively.
