Set Up Machinist

Overview

Okie Staffing is hiring an experienced CNC Set‑Up Machinist for a manufacturing company in Chickasha, OK. This position requires hands‑on experience setting up and operating Okuma CNC Lathes and/or Citizen Swiss Machines. The ideal candidate will be confident with machine set‑ups, reading blueprints, making offsets, checking parts, and producing quality precision parts with minimal supervision.

Location:

Chickasha, OK

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, Day Shift (5:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M., possible Saturday)

• Set up and operate Okuma CNC Lathes and Citizen Swiss Machines
• Perform machine adjustments, offsets, and tooling changes
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications
• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators
• Inspect parts during production to ensure quality and accuracy
• Troubleshoot set‑up or production issues
• Maintain proper documentation and follow shop procedures
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
• Work closely with leads, supervisors, and quality team to meet production standards

• Previous CNC set‑up experience required
• Experience with Okuma Lathes strongly preferred
• Experience with Citizen Swiss Machines strongly preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances
• Ability to use precision measuring tools accurately
• Must be able to make machine offsets and basic adjustments
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Must be dependable and able to work independently
• Stable work history preferred

• CNC lathe set‑up experience
• Swiss machine experience
• Okuma control experience
• Fanuc or similar control experience
• Experience machining tight‑tolerance parts
• Oil & gas, aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing background

$25–$30 per hour depending on experience.
