Job/Department Summary Under direct supervision, the incumbent provides general clerical and routine administrative support for the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Science Education. The position supports department operations by assisting faculty, staff, students, and the Administrative Support Coordinator with standard office tasks, customer service, record keeping, scheduling support, and data entry. Duties are performed by following established procedures and guidelines, with more complex issues referred to the Administrative Support Coordinator or Department Chair.
Required Education And ExperienceASA I: The qualifications listed above would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program or its equivalent and one year experience in an office environment.
ASA II: This position requires experience to be proficient in performing most or all work assignments and should include administrative support, coordinating and prioritizing many different clerical tasks, applying and communicating policies and procedures. These qualifications, and those listed above, would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program or its equivalent and two years recent experience in an office environment.
PreferencesPreference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
- Five years of related office support experience.
- One year experience with budget management.
Time Base: Part-time (.50)
Pay Plan: 10/12 (June/July off)
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer:
Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm
ASA I (.50) $17,652 (Step
2) - $24,234 (Step 18) per year.
ASA II (.50) $17,826 (Step
1) - $25,458 (Step 19) per year.
