Job/Department Summary

Working under general supervision of the COB Assistant Dean of the College of Business (COB) Academic Advisor, supports the recruitment, admission, enrollment, and advisement of approximately 2,500 state-side undergraduate business students from the point of initial inquiry through graduation. Services and activities include academic advising, evaluation of transcripts for transfer credit specific to the major, coordination and presentation of advising-related workshops.

Additionally, incumbent will represent the department at meetings and events, and perform other advising duties as assigned.

Required Education And Experience

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

One year of full-time equivalent experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level. Equivalent amounts of graduate-level, job-related education may be substituted for the required experience.

Preferences

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:

  • Previous experience working in a higher education institutional setting.
  • Previous experience working with a diverse student body.

Time Base: Full-time

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer:
Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm

CSU Classification Salary Range: $53,784 - $76,104 per year.
