We are a passionate, student-centered department with engaged faculty. We train students to think critically, ask big questions, and understand how people and institutions shape the world around us. Our students gain skills in gathering and interpreting data, communicating insights that matter, and using story-based strategies to frame social problems and propose solutions to them. The Sociology Department has two undergraduate programs: an on-campus program, and a parallel Distance Education program.
