Salary- Lecturer A/2: $5,507 – $6,677 per month
- Lecturer B/3: $6,221 – $13,224 per month
- Lecturer C/4: $6,825 – $14,523 per month
- Lecturer D/5: $8,593 – $15,211 per month
Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. See the Faculty Salaries At‑a‑Glance guide for more information.

Position SummaryThe School of Social Work in the College of Behavioral & Social Sciences is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026‑27 academic year and the state‑support Summer 2026 term. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.
Minimum Qualifications- Masters of Social Work degree (or a related/relevant field with exception).
- Minimum two years post‑MSW social work professional experience.
- PhD preferred.
- Experience teaching is a plus.
Lecturer positions in the department carry responsibilities in the areas of teaching. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

The School of Social Work at Chico State offers an undergraduate degree (BSW) in Social Work as well as a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) which may be completed in a one‑year, two‑year, or three‑year program. Our programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and include practical training and supervision in the practicum. We have a particularly strong training program in Child Welfare as well as a Distributed Learning Program, which allows students to take courses largely online with periodic visits to campus for in‑person instruction.
