Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month
Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,221 - $13,224 per month
Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,825 - $14,523 per month
Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,593 - $15,211 per month
Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. See the Faculty Salaries At-a-Glance guide for more information.

Position Summary:
The School of Social Work in the College of Behavioral & Social Sciences is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-27 academic year and the state-support Summer 2026 term. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.
Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment is a Masters of Social Work degree. For some courses, an exception may be made for someone who possess a degree in a related/relevant field. In addition, candidates must have a minimum of two years post-MSW degree social work professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
A PhD is preferred. Experience teaching is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Lecturer positions in the department carry responsibilities in the areas of teaching. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

The Department:
The School of Social Work at Chico State offers an undergraduate degree (BSW) in Social Work as well as a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) which may be completed in a one-year, two-year, or three-year program. Our Programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and include practical training and supervision in the practicum. We have a particularly strong training program in Child Welfare as well as a Distributed Learning Program, which allows students to take courses largely online with periodic visits to campus for in-person instruction.
