Position: AS Student Involvement Coordinator

Associated Students (AS) is a comprehensive campus auxiliary corporation of CSU, Chico serving thousands of students, faculty, staff and community members through myriad student programs, services and business enterprises. AS operates residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union (BMU), and the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC). Additionally, the AS offers a wide variety of services and programs such as: CAVE (Community Action Volunteers in Education), the Child Development Lab, Adventure Outings, Operation Programs and Services (OPS), Sustainability and student government.

Associated Students is now hiring for the position of AS Student Involvement Coordinator
. This is a part-time, non-benefited student position that will work no more than 20 hours per week while school is in session. The pay rate is $17.32 per hour. The schedule for this position is based upon department needs and is subject to change at any time. To be eligible for student employment, you must be enrolled at CSU, Chico and maintain at least 6 units (undergraduate student) or 4 units (graduate student) throughout the course of employment.

SUMMARY

The AS Student Involvement Coordinator plays a key role in promoting student connection and engagement to the programs, resources and opportunities offered through the Associated Students.

This public-facing role supports the daily operations of the Wildcat Leadership Center (WLC) Front Desk, serves as a student success coach, and assists students in connecting with engagement, employment, and leadership opportunities within Associated Students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Educate individuals on the mission, purpose and values of the Associated Students, Student Life and Leadership and the WLC to promote student engagement opportunities.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with AS Contract Program areas. Attend potential night and weekend events.
  • Serve as a student success coach for students looking for support with accountability, time management and organization.
  • Support with the vision, planning, implementation and assessment of the student leadership events Fall Mingle and Spring IMPACT.
  • Act as primary outreach ambassador for Winter and Summer Orientation
  • Support recruitment events including Choose Chico (Spring) and Chico Preview (Fall).
  • Participate in off-site recruitment events with Chico State Admissions and various campus departments
  • Perform basic front desk administrative office tasks including answering phones, copying, filing and scanning.
  • Greet individuals entering the Wildcat Leadership Center.
  • Provide opportunities for student engagement within the Associated Students program areas. This includes ‘the question of the week,’ decorating the space for various celebrations, etc.
  • Organize the planning and distribution of Pick Me Up boxes relating to the AS Four Core Values
  • Perform basic administrative office tasks including answering phones, copying, filing and scanning.
  • Utilize Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Teams, Planner and Shifts to organize and track communication, scheduling and project management.
  • Communicate information with staff, faculty and students related to initiatives, programs and events occurring within the WLC and throughout the Associated Students.
  • Reserve tabling spaces and equipment for students, assist with club recognition paperwork, and post materials within provided deadlines.
