Department Summary:

Under general direction, the Student Services Professional III performs complex student services professional work characterized by independent student advisement and guidance in individual and group settings. The position has oversight of an intentional and accountable residential life programming model, including social, recreational, spiritual, and educational outcomes, and works directly with student governance councils and residence hall programming boards.

Required

Education and Experience:

Graduate from a four‑year college or university in behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a related field.
AND
Three years of full‑time professional experience in a student services program area or related field, demonstrating competence and potential for growth.

* A Master’s degree may substitute one year of experience.
Additional specialized experience demonstrating mastery of student services may also substitute education on a year‑for‑year basis.

Preferences:

  • Master’s degree in Behavioral, Social Science, College Student Professional, Higher Education, Counseling, Management, Public Administration, Sociology, or a related discipline.
  • One year of full‑time equivalent experience in the assigned area.
  • Experience advising a community or hall council or student group.

Time Base: Full‑time

Pay Plan: 12/12

CSU Classification Salary Range: $66,480 – $94,716 per year.

Benefits: This position qualifies for benefits, including tuition fee waiver (if eligible).

California State University, Chico may require that the successful candidate complete a background check, including criminal records, sexual offender registry, and/or fingerprinting. Failure to complete or pass the background check may impact the job offer or continued employment.

This position is considered a sensitive position based on CSU guidelines and requires the safety and security of Level 1 data. The holder is a “General Mandated Reporter” under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083 and the CSU Defensive Driving Course.

Accredited as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act and must comply with related designations.
