Substitute Teacher School Year: 2026-27 Hourly Rate: $200/Full Day or $100/Half Day

Job Description:

Your duties will include assigning homework, managing classroom activities, and compiling reports. Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
Adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher. Follow procedures and achieve lesson goals. Assign and explain homework. Oversee students outside of the classroom including in the hallways and cafeteria. Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times. Take attendance and document daily notes. Ensure classroom and work is kept clean and orderly. Oversee the normal classroom rhythms and activities.

Compile a report for the teacher for when he/she returns. Helps with general housekeeping tasks, including the serving of snacks. Maintains professional attitude and demeanor with students' parents and faculty. Responds to all children with dignity and respect. Supports a learning environment that promotes fairness and respect. Supports the creation of a safe environment which promotes group responsibility.

Required Qualifications:

Possession of a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in Teaching is preferred. Certificate in teaching or substitute teaching. Knowledge of Waldorf Pedagogy or interest in training preferred Knowledge of:
General concepts of early childhood growth and development and child behavior characteristics. Techniques used in supervising and motivating young children. Command of the English language and proficient writing skills including proper use of punctuation, spelling and grammar. Routine record keeping. Adherence to personnel policies of the Blue Oak School. Specific subject area content as required in job assignment. Ability to:
