Position SummaryThe Department of Public Health and Health Services Administration in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-27 academic year. The department is particularly interested in instructors to teach these classes:
- Laws, Ethics and Regulations in Health Services (PHHA 432)
- Healthcare Law (PHHA 638)
- International Health (PHHA 323)
- Environmental Health (PHHA 362)
- Drugs in Our Society (PHHA 370)
- Healthcare Quality Management (PHHA 434)
Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.
Minimum QualificationsFor PHHA 432 and PHHA 638, a JD, Master of Legal Studies or PhD in Law or closely related discipline, and related professional experience is required.
For all other lecturer appointments, a master’s degree in a health-related field relevant to the teaching assignment or extensive experience and specialization related to the teaching assignments is required. Lecturers for courses in the professional process and core categories of the curriculum must have current professional experience performing the process being taught.
Preferred QualificationsPreference will be given to candidates with teaching experience, especially those with positive student evaluations of teaching; licenses or credentials related to the teaching assignment.
ResponsibilitiesLecturer positions in the department carry responsibilities in the area of teaching undergraduate courses. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
