Department Summary:

The Director of Student-Athlete Success provides leadership and oversight for comprehensive academic, personal, and professional development services for Chico State student-athletes. The position oversees the Student-Athlete Success Center and coordinates academic support, advising, housing, conduct, leadership development, community engagement, and graduation planning. The Director collaborates closely with campus partners to ensure student-athletes are supported holistically while maintaining compliance with NCAA, CCAA, and California State University policies.

Required

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Affairs, Kinesiology, Sport Management, or a related field and progressively responsible professional experience supporting student success, academic advising, student development, athletics administration, or a related area.
AND
2-5 years of professional experience.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:

  • Master’s degree in related field.
  • Four years of professional work experience in collegiate athletics.
  • Experience working in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives.
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with a diverse population and understanding of multicultural issues.
  • Experience facilitating educational workshops to students.
  • Demonstrated successful experience with program development and implementation, club/group creation/management, and the ability to initiate and complete projects independently with specific deadlines.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations, personal and professional development trends, and campus and community resources and support systems.
  • NACDA/N4A member.

Time Base: Full-time

Pay Plan: 12/12

Anticipated Hiring Range: Anticipated salary not to exceed $60,000 per year. Salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected.

Benefits: This position qualifies for benefits including tuition fee waiver (if eligible).
