Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Senior Coordinator and Senior Director of Recreational Sports, the Intramural Sports Coordinator administers and coordinates collegiate intramural sports, esports/gaming, and youth programs. Responsibilities include program development, budget monitoring, and strategic planning. The SSP‑IA role is a 6‑12‑month trainee position; upon successful completion it transitions to a full‑time Student Services Professional I, Range
B. The SSP II holds full responsibility for all duties with two years of professional experience required.
- Coordinate intramural sports activities, special events, and esports/gaming programs.
- Develop and maintain youth recreation programs, including summer camps.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, laws, and executive memorandums.
- Monitor program budgets and staff performance.
- Represent Recreational Sports on committees, boards, and task forces.
- Work evenings, overnight, and weekend shifts as needed.
Education and Experience
SSP‑IA
- Graduation from a four‑year college or university in behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a related field.
- No previous experience required.
SSP II
- Graduation from a four‑year college or university in behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a related field.
- At least two years of full‑time professional experience in a student services program area or related field.
- A master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
- Experience coaching, advising, or supervising student‑athletes.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Recreational sports programming experience in a collegiate setting; knowledge of sports rules and officiating preferred.
- Ability to handle high‑volume operations and difficult customers.
- Experience with summer camps or youth programming.
Full‑time position.
Work schedule:
Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm;
Summer:
Monday‑Thursday 7:00 am‑5:30 pm.
Salary ranges: SSP‑IA $49,800 – $60,912 per year; SSP II $60,996 – $86,736 per year.

- Employees must complete CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and maintain valid California driver’s license and defensive driving training.
