2026-27 Lecturer Pool Communication Studies Program

The Communication Studies Program in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-27 academic year. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.

The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment is Master of Arts in Communication Studies or related discipline.

Preferred qualifications include teaching experience, especially in courses closely related to potential assignments; candidates current in the field; and experience working with diverse populations.

Lecturer positions in the department carry responsibilities in the areas of teaching. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

Applicants must provide a current cover letter (including how you have addressed, or plan to address teaching to diverse student groups); a current CV; a complete checklist of courses you believe you are qualified to teach and for which you wish to be considered using the Comm Studies Course Offerings PDF; qualifications for each course on your checklist using the CMST Course Qualifications template (this item will be requested on the "Additional Questions" section of the application);

a copy of unofficial transcripts for your highest earned degree; and contact information of three professional references.
