2026-27 Lecturer Pool Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-27 academic year. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.

The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment is a Master's Degree in psychology or a related field. Previous teaching experience and evidence of excellence in teaching are preferred.

Lecturers will teach one or more sections of courses for which the Department Chair deems them qualified. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

Applicants must provide a current cover letter (including how you have addressed, or plan to address teaching to diverse student groups), a CV, a list of courses you believe you are qualified to teach and for which you wish to be considered, a copy of unofficial transcripts for your highest earned degree, and contact information of three professional references. The Psychology Department is a collegial group of 19 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, 21 lecturers, and one office staff member. The department supports collaboration among faculty in the department and across campus. There are approximately 900 majors, 100 minors, and 100 graduate students. The department offers a BA in Psychology and MA and MS degree programs for preparing students for MFT licensure, school psychology, doctoral study and other professions.
