Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director the School Psychologist evaluates the needs of gifted, handicapped and children in need of psychological services in an educational setting; to perform psycho educational assessments to determine appropriate programs and instructional processes to enable students to achieve maximum achievement and adjustment; to assist students in understanding and seeking solutions to social, emotional, or academic problems and issues;

to serve as a resource pertaining to student behavior management and learning strategies, and welfare and attendance problems and concerns; and to do other related functions as directed. The School Psychologist represents Blue Oak Charter School in a variety of committees and state organizations and takes a leadership role for interagency collaboration regarding individual students programs and support services. Duties of this position include but are not limited to: 1.

Performs a variety of individual and group psycho educational assessment and diagnosis of specific learning, other health impairment, autistic-like, emotional and behavioral disabilities.
2. Help facilitate Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings, including all paperwork, preplanning with teacher, parent, and staff, and all follow-up duties.
3. Supervise and support teachers through instructional, behavioral, IEP implementation, and parent liaison.
4. Administrative designee in the event that the primary administrator(s) is/are unavailable.
5. Supervise new referrals through coordination of IEP's, act as parent contact to introduce the program and coordinate visit of the proposed classroom.
6. Serves as a liaison between the schools, medical authority, mental health and other child service agencies in concern referrals and referral follow-ups. 7. Evaluate, assess, and recommend services for students referred for possible sp
