The Position: Assistant Tenure-Track Professor

Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience. (Anticipated hiring range: $ 86,000-$91,000 per year).

Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a terminal degree (i.e. DSW, PhD, EdD, etc.) in social work or related area. Candidates nearing completion of the terminal degree may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the degree must be met no later than the start date of the position.
In addition to a terminal degree and an MSW, candidates must have two years post MSW practice experience. We are looking for teaching experience across the curriculum such as direct practice skills, assessment, program evaluation, policy analysis, and social advocacy; the ability to utilize educational technology both online and in the classroom; and interpersonal skills that facilitate communication and connection across diverse communities.
Responsibilities:
This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching both undergraduates and graduates, research and scholarship, and service which entails committee work within the School of Social Work and at various levels of the University. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

With many of our faculty recently moving into retirement, our new faculty colleague will have the opportunity to help us shape the future of social work in this largely rural region.
