Senior Water Systems Engineer

Full-Time | Direct Hire
Salary Range: $109,408 - $186,934
Join a leading regulated water utility as a Senior Water Systems Engineer, where you will have the opportunity to play a vital role in the planning, design, and execution of essential capital infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of capital improvement projects including wells, pump stations, storage tanks, pipelines, pressure tanks, and treatment plants.
- Manage projects from inception to construction, ensuring effective scope, schedule, and budget management.
- Oversee construction activities, including coordination with consultants, management of change orders, handling RFIs, inspections, and processing invoices.
- Prepare and review necessary permit applications, bid documents, and detailed technical specifications.
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders.
- Conduct engineering calculations and civil design analysis to support project goals.
- Assist in capital budgeting, cost estimating, and regulatory filings.
- Review legal descriptions, easements, and maintain accurate infrastructure records.
- Contribute to long-term planning for the water distribution system.
- Ensure safety planning and documentation are conducted for all projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (ABET‑accredited).
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience with water distribution, treatment, wastewater, or related infrastructure projects.
- EIT preferred;
California PE highly desirable. - Familiarity with project management principles; PMP certification is a plus.
- Experience with engineering calculations, design analysis, and construction oversight is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in standard engineering and office software tools.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater systems is highly desirable.
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
