The Elite Stylist engages guests, consults on hair care needs and recommends products & services. They deliver professional services focusing on the guest’s total look. The Elite Stylist supports the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager and focuses on performance (service sales, productivity), people (guest service) and process (operating procedures and compliance). A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service and product knowledge are required.

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed the $1,900 average weekly sales goal and productivity targets, contributing to store goals for retail & service sales, guest loyalty, and shrink management.
• Conduct product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Support in‑store events, promotions and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on trends, products and services, including ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑ins, efficiently.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team for a full‑store, well‑rounded experience.
• Build professional partnerships that foster collaborative guest service excellence.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.

• Adhere to Ulta Beauty policies, procedures and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation and infection control procedures in compliance with state board guidelines.
• Apply established service protocols for consistency and excellence.
• Use booking and clientele systems for return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain store operational standards: salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area.
• Follow the dress code.
• Protect assets via loss‑prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant work experience is required.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques across all service categories.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals for technical work.
• Ability to recommend and sell pro hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Independent work capability and teamwork.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Continuous mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs during shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching and twisting during shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
