The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing information, processing referrals, scheduling of services and/or coordinating delivery of equipment. Serves as a liaison between the patient, case management, insurance company and other health care providers. The Customer Service Representative must maintain strict confidentiality in all matters pertaining to patients of Enloe Medical Center.
Minimum Education / Training / ExperienceOne Year Experience Utilizing Clerical And Computer Skills
Six months experience in a medical setting performing such tasks as patient registration, insurance verification or medical billing
- Medical terminology
- Previous home medical equipment, home health or hospice billing experience or related
- ICD-10 Coding
Must have excellent telephone communication skills and interpersonal skills to maintain a high degree of rapport with patients, co-workers, physicians and the public. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Capable of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook for a variety of support functions.
Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must show sensitivity for the patient and family and maintain strict confidentiality. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
This position is responsible for age-related emotional and cognitive needs of the following age groups of patients: pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
