POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Access Team Lead is responsible to accurately collect and analyze all required demographic, insurance, financial and clinical data elements necessary to register patients. The incumbent is responsible for the provision of routine patient access activity to facilitate efficient operations, expeditious reimbursement and optimal consumer satisfaction and employee satisfaction. The incumbent is responsible to monitor work flow and ensure effective and efficient operations including minimizing patient wait times and adherence with department productivity standards.
The Team Lead will communicate areas of concern to the department manager and/or supervisor. The incumbent is responsible to consistently demonstrate the core values of Enloe Medical Center. The incumbent is responsible to perform their duties in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements and the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct.
EDUCATION / TRAINING /
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
* Must have one of the following: + 3 years leadership experience + 2 years progressively responsible hospital admitting/registration experience
Desired:
* Patient Registration experience in an Emergency Department setting
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
This position interfaces with all levels of personnel within the hospital or clinic setting. The incumbent must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. The incumbent must demonstrate positive, professional and effective interpersonal relations with patients, public, physicians, and staff and demonstrate the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to communicate with patients and families during time of emotional and physical stress.
The incumbent must demonstrate sensitivity and compassion for the hospitalized patient and family. The incumbent must maintain all protected patient information in strict confidence. The incumbent must demonstrate high ethical standards and comply with applicable State and Federal regulatory requirements. The incumbent must demonstrate competency in performance of their job duties in accordance with department standards. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment.
The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to organize and prioritize assignments. The incumbent must demonstrate reliability and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to provide lead direction to subordinate staff. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work independently. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work under conditions of frequent interruptions and willingness to be flexible and adapt to change.
