Compensation & Schedule

Compensation range: $36.40 - $46.60 per hour. Pay will be based on applicable experience. Shift: PMs, shift length 8 hours. Days off:
Variable. Hours per pay period: 80.

The Surgical Technologist I functions as a team member during the preoperative, intra-operative and postoperative phases of the surgical procedure.

• Minimum:
  One (1) year recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist OR two years recent surgery center experience in the capacity of a Surgical Tech OR Graduate of an accredited Operation Room Technician course OR has successfully completed Enloe Medical Center’s hospital based Surgical Technologist Training Program OR a current Enloe employee who has applied and been accepted into the Surgical Tech Trainee Program.
• Desired:
  Membership in a national surgical technologist organization.

• Minimum:
  Current CPR recognition.
• Desired:
  Certification as a Surgical Technologist.

• Must demonstrate technical competence, professional judgment and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis.
• Must be able to interact professionally and effectively communicate with physicians, staff, patients, and public.
• Must have the basic skills appropriate to the role of the Surgical Technologist.
• Must have the ability to work within a decentralized model of patient care delivery.
• Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and problem solve efficiently.
• Must have the ability to work in a demanding environment while remaining calm, efficient and focused.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must have the ability and willingness to actively participate in continuing education programs, unit based QI task forces and committees.
• Must be able to meet competency requirements.
• Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
