Job SummaryTechnician (Information Technology/Service)
Compensation Range: $29.34 - $39.61 per hour (rate based on applicable experience)
Shift: Days – 8 hours per day, 80 hours per pay period. Days off:
Fixed (Saturday & Sunday).
- Configure, deploy, modify, and troubleshoot computer hardware/software including peripherals at the desktop level.
- Take a proactive approach in monitoring and performing preliminary diagnostics on computer systems, peripheral equipment, and applications.
- Provide ongoing technical assistance to users on system setups or modifications.
- Accurately log issues into the Information Services trouble ticket system.
- Serve as first or second line support within Information Services for helpdesk and computer operations support on any shift.
- Procure computers, printers, parts, and supplies; obtain quotations for budgetary information; purchase items.
- Support all peripherals connected to the Enloe network, including Digital and VOIP phones, cell phones (smartphones), copiers, and tablet devices such as the iPad.
- Minimum:
Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field OR 6 months experience in desktop support in an enterprise environment. - Desired:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; prior computer support experience in a hospital environment;
CompTIA A+ certification;
Microsoft Certified Professional.
- Minimum:
California Driver’s license (eligible to be insured under the Medical Center’s Liability Policy with DMV Report; proof of current auto insurance coverage, no business exclusion).
- Maintain and troubleshoot network applications from a desktop support end.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.
- Work collaboratively with interpersonal skills.
- Apply working knowledge of personal computer hardware, software, network protocols, and topologies.
- Plan and perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Actively participate in meetings and work groups.
- Interact effectively with and provide service to clients with varying computer knowledge.
- Work as a team member.
- Willingness to learn new operating systems and devices, including tablets and smart phones.
- Ability to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
