Assistant BREWER - 2nd Shift

The Assistant Brewer position is a critical contributor to the production processes throughout the brewing department. This role is responsible for a wide variety of duties in support of the Brewing Department production needs, including raw materials receiving, staging and handling, cellar work, use of the automation and database systems for process and inventory control, adjustments using the WMS system scanners, process component cleaning, area housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

All duties must be performed safely and with high-level attention to detail in accordance with Sierra Nevada Brewing Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and best practices.

• Perform routine work for the brewhouse and cellar, including material receiving, inventory control, brewhouse and cellar hops preparation, basic equipment maintenance and cleaning, and material staging for brewing, cellar, and filtration areas.
• Classified and proficient in utilizing inventory control software (Phoenix WMS and Switchboard) for material receiving, data entry, and lot tracking for FIFO and traceability programs.
• Certified and proficient in operation of department forklifts, stand‑up lift, squeeze clamp tool, torpedo clamp tool, cart caddy, scissor or boom lift, and forklift battery exchange.
• Use process automation systems for cellar process control.
• Manage hop use, including precise weighing of hops according to defined recipes.
• Perform CIP/COP of tanks, lines, and hardware using automated & manual systems.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and contribute to the mobile equipment safety program. Conduct thorough forklift inspections, elevate safety concerns, interact with the Mobile Equipment Specialist to troubleshoot, and report and resolve property damage.
• Adjust material and raw material inventory, manage FIFO best practices, and conduct cycle counts using the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to improve inventory accuracy.
• Assist Brewers with manual material dosing operations in both brewing and filtration areas as needed.
• Maintain and rebuild hardware, write work orders to address equipment and facilities issues, and check out parts from the storeroom as needed.
• Participate in the company Lock Out / Tag Out / Try Out (LOTOTO) and Confined Space programs.
• Maintain an organized, sanitary, and safe work area in accordance with 5S principles and GMP; perform routine GMP/5S audits and maintain ownership of the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned and assist other team members as needed.

• 1 year of experience in a production, industrial, or mechanical setting (preferred).
• 1 year of powered industrial truck experience within a production, warehouse, or shipping operation (preferred).
• Experience with a digital Warehouse Management System (WMS) (preferred).
• Ability to learn and master the Warehouse Management System (WMS) used for inventory control of goods.
• Commitment to creating and maintaining a safe work environment.

• Ability to participate in the department Confined Space program.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as math, reasoning, and space management skills.
• Capability to work independently with little direct supervision.
• Desire to learn and grow into Brewer Technician roles (preferred).
• Forklift Certification within 90 days (required).
• Narrow Isle Lift Certification within 90 days (required).
• Boom Lift Certification within 90 days (required).
• Scissor Lift Certification within 90 days (required).
• Cart Caddy Certification within 90 days (required).

• You must be at least 21 years of age to work for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
• Selected candidate must pass a pre‑employment, post‑offer background check.
• Candidate must be able to work 2nd Shift (1:00 PM – 9:30 PM, Monday – Friday).
