As Grant Research & Development Assistant, you will be part of The Arc of Butte County’s Community Engagement & Development team, with a primary focus on researching funding opportunities and supporting grant and development efforts.

You will also contribute to fundraising, community engagement, events, marketing, and outreach efforts that help strengthen The Arc’s resources and presence in the community.

In this role, your work can directly help expand the resources available to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will have the opportunity to build hands-on experience across grant research, fundraising, community engagement, and nonprofit development while contributing ideas and helping identify new opportunities for The Arc.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys research, stays organized, takes initiative, and is comfortable supporting a variety of development and community engagement projects. This is an in-person, on-site position based in Chico, CA. Remote work is not available for this role.

• Research grant and funding opportunities from government, foundations, corporations, and other sources that align with The Arc’s programs and organizational priorities
• Review funding guidelines and eligibility requirements and bring promising opportunities to the team for consideration
• Maintain the grant pipeline and calendar, including deadlines, funding amounts, application status, reporting requirements, and next steps
• Gather program information, budgets, statistics, stories, and supporting documents and assist with grant applications, submissions, and reporting
• Research prospective donors, sponsors, businesses, foundations, and community partners
• Assist with fundraising campaigns, sponsorship outreach, donor communications, follow-up, and preparation of fundraising materials
• Maintain accurate grant, donor, sponsor, and partner information within CRM systems, spreadsheets, and other department records

• Assist with community events, fundraisers, outreach activities, and tabling, including preparation, event materials, setup, and day-of support
• Help identify community partnerships and outreach opportunities that may increase awareness and support for The Arc
• Support marketing and social media activities by helping create or gather photos, videos, stories, flyers, emails, and other content

• Provide administrative and project support to the Community Engagement & Development team and help keep projects, records, and deadlines organized
• Assist with special projects and department priorities as needed
• Other duties as assigned
