Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care in a Level II Trauma Center and outpatient surgery setting. Assist with patient preparation, surgical procedures, and post-operative care, ensuring safety and compliance with clinical standards. Flexibility to float to the main OR as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver nursing care for surgical patients in both outpatient and trauma settings.
- Prepare operating rooms and assist surgical teams during procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in clinical status.
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Support patient education regarding pre- and post-operative instructions.
- Float to main OR when required, maintaining high standards of patient safety and care.
- Hold current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- Possess at least 2 years of recent OR nursing experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC electronic health record systems.
- Maintain current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.
- Be adaptable to day shifts and some weekend work.
- Successful completion of previous travel assignments is a plus.
- Gain experience working in a high-acuity trauma environment.
