Operating Room Registered Nurse Job Summary Join our team at a Level II Trauma Center, providing exceptional patient care in our busy Operating Room and Endoscopy Outpatient Center. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and collaborate with a skilled team of healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and possess strong clinical skills in the perioperative setting.
As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will circulate and scrub, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment. You may be required to float to the main OR as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the operating room setting.
- Circulate and scrub for a variety of surgical procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and assess patient condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care accurately and completely in the electronic health record.
- Float to the main OR as needed.
- Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- Preferred:
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- Successful completion of travel assignments.
- Proficiency in circulating and scrubbing for various surgical procedures.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection control practices.
- Ability to monitor patient vital signs and assess patient condition.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
