Sales
Location:
California
- On-site or Hybrid
The Ag Solutions Advisor is the face of Western Weather Group in California. This role is responsible for growing WWG's presence among growers of high‑value crops by building genuine, trust‑based relationships with farmers, farm managers, grower associations, and agricultural cooperatives.
The Ag Solutions Advisor sells two core products: professional‑grade weather monitoring stations tailored to agricultural environments, and meteorologist‑backed forecast services that give growers the operational intelligence they need to make confident decisions at critical moments in the growing season. From frost windows on almond orchards to irrigation timing on wine grapes, the hardware this role helps place in the field has direct impact on crop outcomes and farm profitability.
This person will also help clients understand the value of defensible weather records, data that stands up when insurance claims, crop loss disputes, or regulatory events require documented proof of on‑site conditions. The right candidate brings credibility in the ag community, a consultative approach to sales, and enough familiarity with environmental monitoring to speak the language of the grower and the field technician alike.
ResponsibilitiesRepresent WWG with professionalism and integrity consistent with the company’s core values:
- We value building long‑term, equitable, and respectful relationships with our clients.
- We value approaching problems with an open and curious mind while employing scientific rigor to all that we do.
- Expertise
- We value being the experts at what we do while also having the humility necessary to use the experience.
- Build WWG's reputation as the trusted regional source for weather hardware, managed data services, and professional forecast support.
- Develop and maintain a strong presence in California’s agricultural community through direct grower engagement, trade association participation, and cooperative partnerships.
- Attend relevant industry events, field days, and association meetings to deepen market relationships and generate referral pipelines.
- Identify and prioritize growers of high‑margin crops including tree nuts, wine grapes, table grapes, citrus trees, and other specialty crops where weather data drives meaningful financial decisions.
- Identify growers and farming operations with a need for operational environmental and weather data, including frost protection, evapotranspiration tracking, heat accumulation, irrigation scheduling, and pest and disease modeling.
- Prospect new clients through referrals, association contacts, direct outreach, and field visits.
- Qualify leads by understanding operational needs, site conditions, budget, and who in the organization makes purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate lead and client records in Hub Spot.
- Work with growers to understand site‑specific monitoring needs and configure tailored weather station solutions.
- Deliver engaging demonstrations that connect WWG's capabilities to the specific crops, risks, and operations of each prospective client.
- Collaborate with internal WWG technical and operations teams to prepare accurate proposals and supporting documentation.
- Present forecast service options, including automated alerts and meteorologist‑staffed advisory tiers, as part of a complete weather intelligence package.
- Follow up consistently with leads and open proposals to build trust and move opportunities toward contract execution.
- Address objections and guide prospects through final decision‑making, emphasizing both the operational value and the risk‑mitigation value of having defensible, site‑specific weather records.
- Coordinate handoff to Client Operations for installation and onboarding, ensuring a smooth client experience from day one.
- Provide voice‑of‑the‑customer feedback to help shape product development and service offerings.
