What does an ILS Specialist do?
The role of the
Program Specialist
working inthe
Independent Living Services (ILS) department is to guide people to greater independence in their homes and community through practical training and mentorship
.
You will work with adults
one-on-one
who have set goals to achieve, specializing your coaching and training to their individual needs.
Specialized coaching could be in the following areas:
Money management: staying on budget/creating budgets
Outdoor activities: fishing, walking, going to the park, etc.
Community/ social confidence: seeking new connections, attending community events, gaining self confidence in social environments
Cooking skills: food prep, cooking temperatures, cutting, chopping, food storage, kitchen safety
Cleaning/ basic home maintenance: laundry, sweeping, mopping, dusting, mopping
Self-advocatskills: gaining confidence to use their voice based on their values and personal preference
Healthcare, first aid, medication pick up
Personal safety/ mobility skills
Anyadditionalpersonalized goals

Schedule:
You’llbe matched with 1-3 people tosupportwithperson-centered goals. Scheduled hours are Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 6:00 pm
.
Pay Rate:$18.25 per hour
Part-time:14-29hours a week to start,potential for more in the future.
Service locations:Chico and Paradise California
The ideal candidate would:

Requirements:
At least 18 years of age.
Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Ability to pass a driving record check.
Safe and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test.

Pay Scale:
Starting rate: $18.25 per hour
Maximum Pay Rate: $19.25 per hour based on years of experience at Mains’l.
