Reports To: Building Principal

Objective: The primary function of a teacher is to deliver the district curriculum in multiple ways that increase student learning and achievement.

• General Duties and Instruction
  • Teach middle and high school students academic, social, and life skills through district instruction, curriculum and assessment.
  • Prepare, administer, correct and analyze student assessments.
  • Use assessment analysis to develop lessons.
  • Instruct students on rules of conduct and expected behaviors.
  • Manage class and other students across campus or off‑campus events.
  • Identify students with academic issues and refer them to appropriate services.
  • Inform parents or guardians of students’ academic performance and behavior.
  • Maintain records, attendance and grades as required by the district.
  • Assign lessons and correct homework promptly.
  • Use lecture, demonstration and audiovisual aids to supplement presentations.
  • Plan, organize and deliver differentiated instruction consistent with district curriculum.
  • Maintain school and classroom discipline.
  • Meet or call parents to discuss student progress and issues.
  • Teach one or more subjects to middle or high school students.
  • Provide timely feedback to students, parents and guardians on evaluations.
  • Employ techniques that promote critical, creative and evaluative thinking skills.
  • Strive to maintain a learning environment that is physically and emotionally safe.
  • Communicate regularly with staff and administration.
  • Participate in faculty, professional meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops.
  • Serve in related duties such as sponsoring activities, advising on course selection and counseling academic or adjustment problems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by principal, school administration or superintendent.

  • Assist in communicating and enforcing federal/state laws and district policies.
  • Collaborate with school staff and special education.
• School/Community Relations
  • Respect students, parents, guardians and community.
  • Assist parents with questions and concerns.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, parents and guardians.

• Operations
  • Assist in protecting students and property.
  • Support Principal or Vice Principal in fire and emergency drills.
  • Help manage student dismissal, field trips and similar events.
• Professional
  • Maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality and work ethic.
  • Participate in district professional development.

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Education.

Job Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $55,935 to $97,700 Per Year
