Location: 30 Fuller Rd., Chicopee, MA 01020

Shift: Monday
- Friday 3:30pm-12:00am (2nd shift)

Starting Rate of Pay: $26.50/hr + $3.00/hr (2nd shift differential)

Job Overview: Ready to accelerate your career while helping customers move forward? As a Technician at Penske you will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles. You will help customers keep vehicles in shape and on the road.

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
• Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire replacement or rotation, component lubrication and replacement, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
• Partner with manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching
• Work on additional projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license
• Problem‑solving ability and comfort using tools
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Teamwork skills
• Basic computer skills
• Understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, and other information established by Penske management
• Adhere to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies; correct selection and use of tools, PPE, machine guarding, and safety practices
• Regular, predictable full attendance is essential
• Maintain a current driver qualification file required by DOT for driving Penske and customer vehicles, including annual MVR checks, DOT Physical, safety performance history, and for CDL holders DOT drug screening within 30 days of start
• Willingness to work required schedule, location, complete application, background screening, drug screen, physical, potential near‑geography travel for training
• Ability to maintain constant state of alertness and work safely; accept responsibility for own safety and that of others

• Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods during a scheduled shift
• Use hands on routine basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and operate tools or controls
• Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
• Work safely in all weather conditions
• See and hear safely to navigate work environment with frequent truck movement
• Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); push/pull truck tires that exceed 100 lbs
