Class A Heavy Equipment Mechanic​/Service Technician

Overview

Milton Rents is seeking an experienced Class A Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our service team. If you're a skilled technician with advanced knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment diagnostics, we want to hear from you.

Pay Rate: $41.14 hour. This is a union position.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety/functionality testing.
• Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical information.
• Train and provide technical guidance to other technicians.
• Assist customers with equipment operation and troubleshooting as needed.
• Accurately complete work orders and service documentation.

What You'll Bring

• Significant experience repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, or similar machinery.
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Strong knowledge of diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Experience in equipment rental or construction preferred.
• Valid driver's license and own tools.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and serve as a resource for other technicians.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
