Position DescriptionOndrick Materials & Recycling, LLC owns and operates divisions in the aggregate, paving and hardscape industries. The Loader/Operator will contribute to the Fine Grading team as well as to the overall Ondrick Materials and Recycling team to ensure goals are met safely and efficiently while adhering to company policies. This position focuses primarily on equipment operation and various material handling duties.
Qualifications- Operate large equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations.
- Move materials safely through the yard and/or quarry.
- Ensure loads are positioned and placed securely.
- Experience with layout, grading, and drainage.
- Maintenance of front loader, dozer, and excavator: perform pre-operations checks and other inspections/cleaning as prescribed.
- MA Hoisting license and MA Driver's license DOT card.
- Minimum 2 years of experience, skilled with large loaders and excavators.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Pass pre‑employment and random drug screens.
- Operate heavy equipment in a busy aggregate yard and quarry environment.
- Fine grading with a dozer +/- 0.10 ft by traditional control, set up & calibrate GPS.
- Operate an excavator: strip, subgrade, pull pond slopes, cut and fill to +/- 0.10 ft of required.
- Operate equipment efficiently to maintain production goals in a timely manner with attention to detail.
- Safely and productively load trucks.
- Exert up to 100 lbs. occasionally, and 40 lbs. regularly to move objects.
- Abide by all local, state, and federal regulations, and company safety procedures.
- Maintain keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment.
- Use appropriate PPE at all times.
- Work overtime, nights, and weekends if needed.
- Varying weather conditions including extreme hot and cold, rain.
- Exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, stone, and minerals.
- Exposure to load noise and vibration.
- Standing, walking, bending, climbing, stretching outside for extended periods.
- Ability to sit 6–8 hours per day in 2–3 hour intervals.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools; move 50 lbs. regularly to perform routine functions.
- Good hand‑eye coordination and motor skills to safely operate heavy equipment.
- Regular and peripheral vision to safely operate heavy equipment.
- Hearing sufficient to safely operate heavy equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience working with heavy equipment.
- Valid driver's license with clean 3‑year MVR; DOT medical card.
- Hoisting license.
- OSHA 10 preferred.
