The Heavy Equipment Haulerisresponsibleforthesafe ,efficient,andtimelytransportofheavyconstructionequipment—includingyellowiron(excavators,loaders,dozers),paving equipment,andcrushingequipment—toandfromjobsitesandcompanylocations.

Thisrolerequiresstrictadherencetoallcompany,state,andfederalregulations,withafocusonDOTcomplianceandbestpracticesforloadsecurement.

• • Minimum5years’experiencehaulingheavyequipment,includingyellowiron,paving,andcrushingequipment,inaconstructionenvironment.
  • Provenexpertiseinloading,securing,andunloadingheavyequipmentusinglowboys,dropdecks,andotherspecializedtrailers.
  • In-depthknowledgeofDOTregulations,includingFMCSA
    393.130andrelatedcargosecurementstandards.
  • Abilitytoselectanduseappropriatetie-downs(chains,binders,straps) andedgeprotection,ensuringallloadsareimmobilizedandcompliantwithworkingloadlimits.
  • Experiencewithrouteplanningforoversized/overweightloads,includingobtainingnecessarypermitsandcoordinatingwithdispatchandauthorities.
  • Strongcommunicationskillsandabilitytoworkindependentlyoraspartofateam.
  • Reliable,withastrongworkethicandattentiontodetail.
  • Abilitytopasspre-employmentandrandomdrugscreens.
  • ValidCDLdriver’slicensewithhazmatendorsementsandclean3-yearMVR.
  • ValidDOTmedicalcard.
  • HoistinglicenseandOSHA
    10certification.

• • Safelyoperateandmaneuvertrucksandtrailers(lowboy,dropdeck,beam,etc.)fortransportingheavyequipment.
  • Conductthoroughpre-tripandpost-tripinspectionsofvehiclesandequipment,reportinganymaintenanceneeds.
  • Load,secure,andunloadheavyequipment,ensuringcompliancewithDOTandmanufacturersecurementrequirements(minimumfourtie-downsforequipmentover
    10,000lbs,properattachmentpoints,anduseofedgeprotection).
  • Applybestpracticesforstrappingdownequipment,includingtheuseofchains,binders,andstrapsratedfortheload,andregularinspectionofsecurementdevicesforwearordamage.
  • Planandexecutetransportroutes,consideringroadrestrictions,permits,andsafetyrequirementsforoversizedloads.
  • Maintainaccuratetransportationlogs,deliveryreceipts,andinspectiondocumentsasrequiredbyDOTandcompanypolicy.
  • Communicateeffectivelywithdispatch,sitemanagers,andclientstocoordinatepick-ups,deliveries,andresolveissuesduringtransport.
  • Ensureallaccessoryequipmentisproperlylowered,secured,andimmobilizedfortransit.
  • Usechocks,wedges,orcradlesasneededtopreventrollingorshiftingofequipment.
  • Displayrequiredsignage,flags,andlightingforoversizedoroverhangingloads.
  • Performbasicvehiclemaintenanceandkeepthecabandtrailercleanandcompliant.
  • WearandmaintainappropriatePPE(Personal Protective Equipment ) atalltimes.
  • Work overtime,nights,andweekendsasneeded.
  • Performotherdutiesasassigned.

• • Exposuretovaryingweatherconditions,includingextremeheat,cold,rain,dust,andnoise.
  • Physicaldemandsincludestanding,walking,bending,climbing,andliftingupto
    50poundsregularly.
  • Abilitytositforextendedperiodsandmaintainfocusinabusyenvironment.

  • Abilitytotroubleshootandresolveissuesindependentlyorwithteamsupport.
  • Willingnesstotravelandworkflexiblehours,includingovernighthaulsifrequired.
