Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education
- Valid teaching license 1-8, K-8, or 4-9
- 5 Years teaching experience
- Administrative license preferred
- Demonstrate substantial knowledge base in reading facilitation skills, researched best practices in Reading and Math, and have the capacity for leadership within the district
- Must be familiar with the TBT 5 step process, be able to facilitate data discussions, and be flexible to meet the different instructional needs within a building
- Possess solid computer skills with the ability to run and create data reports
- Strong oral and written communication skills and be comfortable facilitating team meetings
- Must be willing to participate in training that will involve some time away from home and/or during non-school hours
- Be familiar with progress monitoring, and be able to develop a monitoring plan for a student caseload that addresses individual student needs and follow through on such plan
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to provide the required documentation for interventions and progress monitoring of students assigned
- Ability to assist other staff members with progress monitoring, developing an intervention and progress monitoring plan, and follow through of such plan with appropriate documentation as evidence
The Dean of Students will serve as support for the building assigned and provide services in a team approach. The position will provide administrative assistance in the areas assigned by the principal/assistant principal in grades 3 through 6, including student supervision, discipline, guidance, instructional leadership improvement, and a variety of student activities.
Specific Performance Duties- Plans and implements programs designed to develop student character and discipline in accordance with District standards
- Monitors student behavior and behavioral intervention programs and supports
- Confers with and advises parents on matters of student's behavior and the implementation of effective programs related to student discipline
- Assists in the supervision of students before, during and after school
- Assists and implements culture and climate related goals for the building
- Identify, plan, and implement strategies to address barriers to learning including attendance, discipline, and school involvement
- Serves as a resource to personnel, parents and members of the school community
- Maintains a liaison with social services and youth service agencies
- Assists principal/assistant principal in the coordination of security, facilities, and grounds
- Assists the building principal with collecting data to facilitate the building's TBT 5 step process
- Develops student intervention and progress monitoring plans for identified students and collects the required documentation for evidence of delivery of such plan and the progress monitoring data
- Effectively communicates with parents about their child's current behavioral and academic abilities and educational needs
- Other duties as assigned
