Machine Operator Trainee

TOPPAN Packaging Americas specializes in designing and manufacturing sustainable, high-performance flexible and thermoformed packaging solutions for the food, beverage, medical, and consumer goods industries. With 22 manufacturing facilities across North America, Latin America, and Europe, the company produces products such as transparent high barrier films, pouches, clamshells, and trays, leveraging advanced technology to enhance product safety, visibility, and environmental sustainability.

While reporting to the Supervisor, as a Skilled Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating all manufacturing equipment. Safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic are important to the Toppan culture.

Hours:

Night Shift | 7:00pm – 7:00am (includes $2.00 shift differential)

Rate: $21.37 – $22.29 per hour (based on experience)

• Operate, start up, set‑up, and shut down the extrusion/thermoforming line.
• Maintain proper operation of all production equipment and troubleshoot processing problems.
• Record and share information with team members to maintain quality and machine efficiency.
• Perform quality audits and relieve inspector/packers as needed.
• Coordinate line requirements with Maintenance, Material Handling, and QA departments.
• Proficiently complete all required paperwork.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Supervisor.

• At least 2 years of experience as a skilled manufacturing operator.
• At least 2 years of experience operating manufacturing equipment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Data entry skills.
• Capability to perform repetitive duties, including standing, walking, and working on stairs for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and handle product (push/pull, reach, bend).
• Capability to work in conditions of heat, humidity, and production noise.
