Position SummaryWhile reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting Machine Operators in the proper set up and operation of an extrusion/thermoforming line and all auxiliary equipment. You will work with a sense of urgency to troubleshoot and correct processing problems and minimize downtime. Work is performed under the general direction of the Production Supervisor, with a dotted line to the Process Engineer, or in the capacity of Production Supervisor.
You must have a proven record of success in a fast‑paced environment and the ability to work with various teams.

Rate: $25.96 + $2.00 per hour for night shift premium
Key Responsibilities- Ensure proper operation of machines to produce quality product.
- Use proper troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve line‑related problems.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Read and record process settings and enter into computer.
- Ensure shutdown, changeover, PM, and startup checklists are complete and to procedure.
- Track and record all machine and quality downtime accurately and to procedure.
- Monitor and respond to sheet gauging equipment.
- Accurately weigh and record material waste generated by production line.
- Perform and record all quality procedures as required.
- Communicate information effectively to other team members.
- Follow and enforce all company policies/procedures, including all safety policies/procedures.
- Follow housekeeping policy and sign off on Master Cleaning Schedule.
- Perform Blending Room Material Handler duties as needed:
- Weigh and track all regrind and submit completed forms to Production Supervisor.
- Transport regrind and/or empty gaylords from warehouse as needed.
- Organize weighed and tagged gaylords in warehouse.
- Move webbing and/or stacks of sheet to grinder(s) as needed.
- Monitor regrind in silos, dump as needed.
- Notify Maintenance regarding blending alarms/mechanical issues.
- Sweep blending room and clean top of vacuum loader/hopper, dump fines under Sweeco and under mezzanines from feed vacuum venturi, and empty containers from mezzanine funnel shoot.
- Acquire and dump additives/concentrates at silos.
- Load additive hopper next to lines as directed.
- Dump (empty) the sock at the Sweeco station.
- Monitor materials required to meet production goals.
- Cross‑train as Material Handler.
- Responsible for the quality of items produced to meet product specifications.
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Maintain time and production records.
- Oversee the set‑up of machines and equipment.
- Other duties as requested by Supervisor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
- Excellent interpersonal, mathematical, and reasoning skills.
- Minimum two years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum six months experience in plastics processing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Can stand, sit, reach, and bend.
- Can push/pull and handle product.
- Must be able to work in conditions that may include heat, humidity, and production noise.
