Job Summary

This position reports to Plant Engineer in Chillicothe, MO. The Electro Mechanic will install, configure, troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, or replace electronic instrumentation, controls, and electrical and mechanical devices typical in an industrial plant environment. The role requires hands‑on technical skill and attention to detail.

Position: Electro Mechanic
Hours: Night Shift 7:00 pm – 7:00 am (Night Shift Premium $2.00)
Rate: $26.98 – $32.70 per hour, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with all plant safety requirements and participate fully in the plant safety program.
  • Diagnose PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) control level issues by monitoring PLC programs; install, calibrate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair major electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems and peripheral devices per manufacturer specification.
  • Read complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and shop drawings for installation, troubleshooting, and repair of major systems and subsystems.
  • Troubleshoot and install safety and motor starter control circuits.
  • Troubleshoot, install, and calibrate various instruments, including ultrasonic level transmitters, flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, and differential pressure transmitters.
  • Participate in GPS activities, including R‑3s, zero‑failure analyses, incident follow‑up, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Utilize test equipment (analog/digital multi‑meters, etc.) to identify problems and maintain equipment to performance standards.
  • Connect, disconnect, and tag out equipment and circuits for testing or repair ensuring safety for personnel and equipment.
  • Pull and terminate cable for instrumentation installation and repair.
  • Install electrical conduit and wiring for electrical circuits in compliance with national electrical code.
  • Perform soldering on electronic components and mechanical repairs as required.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems, equipment, and components.
  • Maintain neat and orderly shop and storage areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization and occasionally work on special projects.
  • Be available for work on short notice if called in.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school plus 6 months of related work experience, or 3 years of experience in electronic, electrical, and mechanical technology.
  • Fork‑truck operator license preferred.
  • Experience with Fanuc or similar robots is a plus.
  • Strong reading, comprehension, writing, and presentation skills for technical information.
  • Solid mathematical skills: probability, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in multiple formats and apply concepts to practical situations.
  • Capacity to use mechanical lifts.
  • Willow to kneel, bend, twist, reach, climb stairs and ladders, and lift over 50 lb.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including hearing protection, safety glasses, hair/face net (if applicable), and steel‑toe shoes.
  • Ability to work in conditions that may include heat, humidity, and production noise.
