Heavy Equipment Field Technician ​/ Mechanic

Foley Equipment, an authorized Caterpillar dealer in Kansas and Northwest Missouri, is hiring an Equipment Field Technician to troubleshoot, service, and repair heavy machinery at customer work sites.

• Perform all levels of repair and preventive maintenance on heavy machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
• Make recommendations for repairs, perform critical repairs, and adjust components.
• Work overtime as required by fluctuating workloads and be available for after-hours calls.
• Perform required DOT inspections to ensure the service truck is in proper, safe working order.
• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
• Develop and maintain long-lasting working relationships with customers.
• Travel for training and/or to assist at other locations.

• Hands‑on mechanical work in a shop environment.
• Lift components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance.
• Lift, carry, and lower components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance.
• Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials.
• Climb on and off equipment and work at varying heights.
• Stand, bend, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods.
• Safely operate tools and equipment.

• Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics.
• Class A CDL required, or ability to obtain CDL within three months of start date.
• General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments.
• Ability to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, and related publications.
• Valid CDL license.

• Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry, specifically with CAT earthmoving equipment.
• Stable work history.
• Class A CDL.
• Ability to foster positive relationships internally and externally.
