Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client on a contract basis in Chillicothe, Ohio. In this role, you will handle key accounting processes and ensure accurate financial reporting, contributing to the smooth operation of our finance department. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a solid background in accounting.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.

- Manage tariff billing procedures and verify compliance with established standards.

- Perform intercompany account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.

- Lead month-end close activities, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and reports are completed.

- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and create reports.

- Conduct thorough bank reconciliations to ensure accurate balances.

- Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and improve procedures.

- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior role.

- Expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

- Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.

- Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all financial activities.

- Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations.
