Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support essential financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Chillicothe, Ohio. This position will focus on maintaining accurate transaction records, supporting billing activity, and helping ensure timely processing across payables and receivables. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and help ensure payments are completed accurately and on schedule.

- Manage customer invoicing activities, track outstanding balances, and assist with the timely collection and posting of receivables.

- Perform account reconciliations to identify discrepancies, research variances, and support accurate financial reporting.

- Maintain organized accounting records and update financial data to reflect daily transactions and adjustments.

- Support routine billing operations by preparing charges, reviewing account activity, and resolving payment-related issues.

- Assist with general accounting tasks, including transaction review, data entry, and documentation of financial activity.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address account questions and improve the accuracy of accounting processes. Requirements - Experience handling accounts payable and accounts receivable functions in an accounting environment that requires close attention to detail.

- Working knowledge of billing procedures, payment processing, and account reconciliation practices.

- Ability to review financial information carefully and maintain a high level of accuracy in daily work.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounting tasks and deadlines.

- Proficiency with standard accounting systems and common office software applications.

- Clear communication skills for coordinating with team members and resolving account-related questions.
