What You’ll Do- Provides instruction in basic fundamentals of building maintenance (e.g., plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry, roofing, drywall repair) and individual assistance
- Assesses educational needs of inmates
- Develops lesson plans addressing those needs, including individual assignments and training
- Administers, scores, and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
- Maintains discipline and/or security
- Counsels students concerning performance, behavior and personal problems
- Attends meetings as required
- Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
- Inventories and orders supplies and materials
- Researches, selects, and recommends new teaching materials
- Attends in-service training and workshops for professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
This position prefers the candidate to hold a Plumbing teaching license from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Candidates must demonstrate at least five years of experience in the plumbing trades or equivalent training/certification.

QualificationsMust meet eligibility requirements for Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career-tech - building maintenance and grade level as assigned;
Teacher 1, 71361. A baccalaureate degree or equivalent is required per OEA agreement. Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.
This position prefers a Plumbing teaching license and at least five years of plumbing trade experience or equivalent training/certification.
