Basic Functions And General Duties (Illustrative Only)The following is a list of specific duties which are considered to be essential functions of this job. All instructional activities will be conducted under the general supervision of the teacher assigned to the instructional activity.
- Work with parents and staff of students with disabilities to provide support and resources
- Attend meetings as needed of students with disabilities such as IEP, ETR upon parent or district request
- Provide training programs for parents and staff of students with disabilities to inform them of changes, special education laws and programs
- Be in close contact with community agencies to foster relationships and support between the school, parents, and agencies
- Help to bridge the gap between school and home for students with disabilities.
- Provide reports and data as requested by the State of Ohio and the grants manager
- Ability to work with all students, at-risk students and parents
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to use technology to complete daily and assigned tasks appropriate for the position
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, parents, and students
