Position: Treatment Plant Coordinator 2 (Wastewater) 20098161

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as assistant to the treatment plant operation manager.
  • Coordinate operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment (e.g., motors, controls, pumps, blowers, comminutors, air compressors, chemical feeders) at the water treatment plant.
  • Train maintenance staff and/or operators in proper operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Inspect facilities and coordinate purchase of chemicals and parts.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust equipment.
  • Review preventive maintenance programs.
  • Inspect newly installed equipment.
  • Instruct staff in chemical testing procedures and daily reporting preparation.
  • Review design drawings and specifications for contract work.
  • Meet with consultants to resolve construction or installation problems.
  • Oversee and/or perform general maintenance at the water treatment facility (e.g., till seed beds, mow grass, paint buildings, plow snow).
  • Perform operational modifications necessary in emergencies to meet EPA requirements.
  • Attend annual training, meetings, and/or serve on committees.
Qualifications
  • Class II Water certification, or equivalent.
  • Compliance with OAC 3745-7-15 requiring OEPA Director approved contact hours for certification renewal.
  • Minimum 12 months experience as a treatment plant operator in a water and/or sewage treatment plant, including routine laboratory testing.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in employee training & development.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of state and federal water plant operation guidelines.
