System Test Engineer – Environmental Test

Location Tlaquepaque, Mexico

As a System Test Engineer – Environmental Test, you will execute system-level verification activities focused on System Qualification Testing (ASPICE SYS.
5) for Power Electronics products. You will ensure that system robustness and reliability are validated through environmental and stress testing aligned with customer and industry standards. You will contribute to the validation lifecycle by preparing and executing environmental test cases, analyzing results, and ensuring compliance with defined processes and requirements.

Your Tasks
  • Analyze customer requirements, environmental standards, and system specifications to ensure proper test definition and coverage.
  • Develop and implement test cases for System Qualification Testing (ASPICE SYS.
    5), focusing on environmental and robustness validation.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor environmental tests, including temperature, humidity, vibration, thermal shock, and electrical stress.
  • Define and validate test setups, instrumentation, and measurement methods to ensure reliable and repeatable results.
  • Understand product functionality and operational limits to ensure proper validation of system boundaries.
  • Evaluate, interpret, and document test results, ensuring traceability to requirements and compliance with test processes.
  • Identify failures, perform root cause analysis, report defects, and propose improvement actions.
  • Support test automation and data acquisition improvements to increase efficiency and quality of validation activities.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Software, Quality, and Test Lab teams to ensure proper system qualification.
  • Establish and maintain a stable interface with project stakeholders and external teams.
  • Participate in design and test reviews, contributing to risk identification and validation alignment.
  • Provide test support at customer sites or external laboratories when required.
  • Collaborate with production plants to support the definition and implementation of test instructions for manufacturing validation.
  • Ensure compliance with ASPICE, IATF 16949, APQP/PPAP, V-model processes, and environmental standards (e.g., LV124, IEC).
  • Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives, fostering innovation in test methodologies, lab processes, and equipment usage.
Your Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a comparable field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in automotive testing, validation, or laboratory environments.
  • Experience in environmental testing and System Qualification Testing (SYS.
    5).
  • Basic understanding of ASPICE, V-model, and automotive development processes.
  • Knowledge of environmental test methods, instrumentation, and lab equipment.
  • Familiarity with automotive standards (e.g., LV124, IEC) is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with global HELLA locations (e.g., HRO, HLT, HEC, HKG) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • STQB foundation level is a plus.
