Job DescriptionIn District Planning & Engineering Office, acts as staff specialist, District Pavement Engineer, Oversees management of roadway inventory. Provides technical expertise & assistance to Highway Management & Planning & Engineering Department in area of pavement design & buildup, repair & maintenance & project selection, as well as coordination of pavement coring operation. Establishes priorities for project selection for the priority, general & urban paving programs, & assists District Planning Engineer in coordinating the annual Capital Workplan.
Plans & coordinates projects with other programs Manages & ensures accurate & timely updating of management information systems as they relate to program delivery (i.e., ELLIS, Structure Management System (SMS). Enterprise & Information Management System (EIMS)) & ensures their business rules, policies & procedures are implemented, used & maintained as standard business practices in their designated work environment. If necessary, acts as first line supervisor over & provides training to lower-level transportation engineers.

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors & 12 mos. exp. as group or project leader providing work direction & training to engineering technicians &/or lower-level engineers or 12 mos. exp. in conducting engineering related research (i.e., conducting engineering related research only applies to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.
-Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors & 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 2, 85642; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.
