Daily travel to locations within the assigned area utilizing a state vehicle is required. The total one‑way commute miles must not exceed 50 miles to the normal report‑in location.
Work Hours7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (4 days travel, 1 day remote) – subject to change.

Adams, Athens, Belmont, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, Perry, Pike, Ross, Scioto, Vinton, Washington.

- Conduct on‑site technical assistance visits, formal training classes & seminars
- Provide independent evaluation to the Disaster Services Supervisor on the status of local government emergency preparedness & operational readiness based on training programs, exercise activities, meetings with local officials & public outreach
- Represent the state at county and regional level events and meetings involving emergency management (mitigation, preparedness, response & recovery)
- Coordinate between state and local agencies to solve problems
- Assist local emergency management agencies in developing, conducting & evaluating training programs & exercises for systems, structures, plans & personnel integral to emergency operations
Option 1:
- 2 years training or 2 years experience in emergency management, public or business administration
- 2 years training or 2 years experience in disaster services & emergency operations
- Must be able to provide own transportation
Option 2:
- Completion of undergraduate major core program in emergency management, public or business administration
- 2 years training or 2 years experience in disaster services & emergency operations
- Must be able to provide own transportation
Option 3:
- 2 years experience as Disaster Services Consultant 1
- 2 years training or 2 years experience in disaster services & emergency operations
- Must be able to provide own transportation
Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications as noted above.
